Delayed Start - February 6th

Dec. 30, 2020

Navigating the effects of COVID-19 on the broad sport community has been challenging for all, we understand that the uncertainty around what is allowed, what is not allowed and what is permitted to happen and when has caused a lot of confusion among all of your clubs. The Metro Basketball Association is feeling the same pain, our goal is and will remain to be able to provide organized sport for the youth in your associations. As you are likely aware, a few weeks back Nova Scotia Department of Public Health has suspended all forms of sport competition until January 11th, 2021 at which point it will revaluate, along with this HRCE has closed their gyms for the same time period.

With no guarantee given by Nova Scotia Department of Public Health if competition will be allowed to resume on the 11th the Metro Basketball Association has made the decision to further delay the start of the basketball season. We will aim to begin the weekend of February 6th and 7th and run a regular season of the same 10 weeks. This delay will mean that we are unable to finish the season with the same play-off ending which the league has traditionally hosted. We are still looking at the possibility of play-offs but it does not look promising.
